The HMB Child Care Society is having their Annual General Meeting at the HMB school library this year. Along with board presentations, there will be a slideshow of the kids they care for and what those kids did this year. We’d love to see your support for this outstanding volunteer group who care for our kids. Please consider attending. You could also help the society by becoming a board member. One 2 hour meeting per month to help ensure quality childcare continues in Halfmoon Bay.
April Scholastic flyers have arrived and are in the children’s mailboxes at the preschool. Completed flyers can be submitted in the Scholastic folder above the sign-in sheet – I will collect them as they come in up until I submit the order on Friday, April 11th.This month’s bookish tip: Add a new twist to reading by playing games with the words and pictures on the pages. Try letting your little one finish rhymes, play “I Spy”, or find the letters in their name. Have fun!
Don’t forget tonight’s meeting in the POd. HMB Child Care Society welcomes all to their monthly board meeting. Sit in and listen to how the nuts and bolts of our children’s childcare come together. Consider joining the society as a board member. One 2-hour meeting per month will help support and facilitate this non-profit society and their agenda of quality childcare in Halfmoon Bay. Come over after tonight’s potluck – 6:30, Wednesday, March 26.
On Sunday March 30th please come out to support the HMB Childcare Centre with a fundraiser run by Charlotte Creed and Karyn McMurchy of Arbonne International. 15% of all sales from that day will be donated to the centre to assist with the renovations needed to move our Kindercare programme up to join Out Of School Care in the POD. We have received funding to begin the process, but extra costs include revamping the kitchen space and providing more storage. Managers Tracey and Liz and some of the board members will be there to discuss the exciting new changes and hear your input.The event will be held from 1-3pm at the HMB preschool, and childminding will be provided while you explore the Arbonne skin care and wellness line. Experience some aromatherapy, nutritional and weight loss products, children’s products, and of course the fabulous skin care line.
