Our next Meeting is Nov 25th, 2009

Hi everyone.  Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 25th, at 6pm in the POD at HMB Community School.  Please let us know if you need childcare so we can book it.  There will be a fund-raising sub-committee meeting scheduled soon, so keep your eyes out for great ideas and let’s see what we can do.

Fee Increases to HMB Pre-school and Day-care

HMBCCS will be increasing the 2 day per week pre-school fee in January, 2010.  The current fee is $125 per month for 2 classes/week per month.  It will be raised to $165 for 2 classes/week per month.  HMBCCS staff  provide excellent  childcare and nurturing to our children.  Our fees have been significantly lower then all other pre-schools on the Sunshine Coast and it is long overdue to bring them to comparable levels.  To illustrate the fee structure- parents have been paying $5.55 per hour to have your child in pre-school.  A further increase may occur in September, 2010.   If you have any questions or comments, please come to our next HMBCCS Board meeting.  Tuesday, October 20th, 6pm in the POD.

The PAC Shopping Fair Extravaganza- Confirmed for Thursday, Nov. 19th, 2009

Do you sell Tupperware, Usbornne, Arbonne or Avon or any other product?  Maybe make jams or pickles?  Art or crafts?  Would you  consider participating in a Group Show one evening this November?  It would be like a huge home sales party only with multiple companies and products.  Tables are $25, to the PAC,  but all sales are your own.  Set up samples, take orders or just sell your stock.  Friends and neighbours will come for a fun evening out- shopping locally,  have a visit and a snack from the ‘Cafe’,  and maybe get ready for Christmas a little early this year.  If you are interested, please contact Kate at kat.emmasworld@gmail.com  or call 604 885 2019  to book a spot.

Kid’s Clothing Swap- this Saturday, April 4th

Saturday, April 4th from 10-12 at the HMB Pre-school/Day-care building behind the HMB School.

It is a big clothing exchange for children sized 0-8. Bring spring/ summer clothes that are clean, in good shape and ready to wear (maternity clothes welcome). No rips, tears or stains. Also welcome are books, toys and accessories that are in good condition. Clothes will be separated into 4 major size groups and marked with signs. Add the clothes you bring into the matching size piles. It is recommended that you separate your clothing by size before the swap to save time and be sure to arrive a little early. The swap will begin as soon as everyone has finished placing their clothes in the appropriate piles. When the swap begins, look through the piles to find the items in the sizes you need and put them in your bag. There are no minimum requirements for how many items you have to bring or how many you can take, but please be courteous and generous. Items that do not get swapped will be donated.
